2009 Events at Brandywine Battlefield

CHARTER DAY

March 8th 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm - FREE
Visit an 18th century tavern. Meet the tavern keeper and his patrons who will invite you to play tavern games of the time period. Visit the Blacksmith Shop and learn about the importance of this trade in the local community.


CHILDREN’S DAY

May 9th 10:00 am - 4:00 pm - ADMISSION CHARGED
Bring the family to the Park for the day and participate in various demonstrations and hands-on activities. See an operating Blacksmith Shop and try your hand at 18th century chores and crafts.

Bring the Family and see British & Continental Troops encamped, Military demonstrations will be conducted both days. Plenty of fun for the Entire Family! More information to come shortly.

Held at the Flagpole near Washington’s Headquarters.

 


 


Patriots Day

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 28th

10:00 am - 4:00 pm - ADMISSION CHARGED

Adult - $6  Senior - $4  Youth/Student - $3 Under 5 free. Prices subject to change.

Join us the Saturday after Thanksgiving & Step Back in time to a small British outpost and see Redcoats & Royal Artillery encamped during the winter of 1777. Infantry & Artillery Firing Demos, 18th Century Baker with fresh Breads & Cookies, Military Fife & Drum Music, 18th Century Sutlers/Merchants, Open Fire Cooking, and a Military Medical Display & Demonstration. 

Tour the two Historic Quarters of Lafayette & Washington, see the Museum & Film. Chadds Ford Rotary will provide food & refreshments. Also, as a way of saying "Thanks" to the Community for their support, Everyone will receive a 10% discount in our Annual Museum Shop Holiday Sale starting Patriot's Day & continuing until Christmas Eve.

BATTLEFIELD BY CANDLELIGHT

Tour the candlelit homes of Benjamin Ring and Gideon Gilpin. Learn about their families experiences before, during and after the Battle of Brandywine.
